Rome, Italy (My Sportsbook) - Daniele De Rossi had appealed a three-match ban given to him by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body but the AS Roma player has and his club has now decided to withdraw their appeal request. The Roma midfielder was sent off during a Champions League clash with Bayer 04 Leverkusen on October 19 for intentionally kicking Jacek Krzynowek. UEFA originally handed De Rossi a one-match ban for violent conduct but after the disciplinary body reviewed the game footage his ban was extended to three matches. With the withdrawal of the appeal by Roma an De Rossi, the ban by UEFA remains in effect and will now be served.
