Rome, Italy (My Sportsbook) - AC Milan used another brilliant defensive performance and a strike by new father Andriy Shevchenko to record a 1-0 victory at Sampdoria. The win moves the Rossoneri within two points of Juventus for the Serie A lead. Juve hosts Chievo Verona on Sunday with an opportunity to push the margin back up to five. Shevchenko did not start the match as he arrived late from the hospital after the birth of his first child. The Ukrainian star celebrated the joyous weekend with a rebound goal. Hernan Crespo worked a nice one-two pass with Serginho before firing a shot on net. The attempt was denied but Sheva easily pounded home the rebound for the match's only goal. "I want to dedicate this victory to my wife and my baby. The emotion I felt tonight and in the last few days is undescribable," Shevchenko told Milan Channel after the match. "I'm really happy for the victory and the birth of my baby, emotions that I would like to feel again." AC Milan's defense again looked rock solid in the match. The Rossoneri have allowed just six goals in nine Serie A matches this season. Inter Milan, meanwhile, continued to pile up draws after finishing deadlocked with Lazio at the San Siro on Saturday night. Adriano scored again for Inter, his seventh of the season, but the Biancocelesti notched a late equalizer to end the match in a 1-1 draw. Leonardo Talamonti scored for Lazio with just four minutes remaining when he headed home a free kick. Inter now has a staggering seven draws and 13 points in nine league matches.
