Guimares, Portugal (My Sportsbook) - FC Porto captain Costinho remained hospitalized Thursday with a head injury. The midfielder collided with a Vitoria Guimares player during a Taca de Portugal (Portuguese Cup) match Wednesday. Vitoria upset Porto by a score of 2-1 in the contest. Costinha's head collided with the knee of Vitoria's Falvio Meireles and he fell immediately to the ground unconscious. Costinha suffered memory loss but tests revealed no serious damage. The injury could be costly to a Porto side that has struggled so far this season. The two-time defending SuperLiga champions and current Champions League holders have just one point through three Champions League matches. They are currently second in the SuperLiga table. Costinha's availability for Portugal's World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg next month could also be in question if he remains on the sidelines for several weeks.
