Lisbon, Portugal (My Sportsbook) - Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari selected his squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Russia, and the team is still getting used to playing without superstar Luis Figo and company. Figo, the 2001 FIFA player of the year, announced his "temporary" retirement from international soccer in August. The 31-year-old still stars for Real Madrid of the Spanish league. "At the moment I feel a need to stop playing," he explained back in August. "I have never refused my country and no-one can predict the future." Portugal has not missed Figo yet, as Scolari's team won its first two qualifiers against Latvia and Estonia by a combined score of 6-0. The team will be without Porto defender Nuno Valente who is still sidelined with a knee injury.
