=== Beir-Mar coach Wadsworth steps down === Aveiro, Portugal (My Sportsbook) - SC Beira-Mar coach Mick Wadsworth resigned Monday as coach of the SuperLiga side. Assistant Jose Alberto Costa has taken over the club temporarily. Wadsworth, an Englishman, lasted just four matches at the helm of the club. The abrupt departure was described as "personal". Beira-Mar has six points (two wins and two losses) after four games and are coming off a 2-1 win over Vitoria Setubal on Friday. The 54-year-old Wadsworth took over at Beira-Mar back in May. He replaced Antonio Sousa, who guided the club to an 11th-place finish last season. Wadsworth had done most of his coaching in England, where he made his mark as an assistant under Bobby Robson with both the English national team and at Newcastle. |
