Madrid, Spain (My Sportsbook) - Real Madrid has allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to continue his recovery from an ankle injury with the Portugal national team and he could play in their upcoming vital World Cup qualifiers. The $132 million winger missed Sunday's La Liga loss to Sevilla with an ankle sprain picked up against Marseille in the Champions League last week. There were fears that Ronaldo would miss Portugal's must-win games against Hungary and Malta, but he could now feature for Carlos Queiroz's under- pressure side. "Ronaldo's participation depends on the evolution of the traumatic arthritis and Grade I sprain on his right ankle," read a club statement. "The player has taken with him documents provided by the Real Madrid-Santias Medical Services regarding his injury. "The medical staff of the Portuguese FA will determine the recovery work he must do following close study of these reports." (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
