Naples, Italy (My Sportsbook) - Napoli manager Roberto Donadoni says he is not feeling the heat after his teams slow start to the new Serie A campaign, but things may get a bit hotter if the club suffers another loss on Saturday against Udinese.
Napoli got off to strong start last season, but faded down the stretch and finished 12th.
This summer, expectations were raised as the club invested in some key transfers, most notably former Udinese striker Fabio Quagliarella, who did show flashes of his of his scoring ability by netting two goals in Napoli's 3-1 win over Livorno.
However, the club's 4-1 defeat at Genoa last time out left some questioning how long Donadoni would be in charge at the San Paolo, although the boss dismissed these concerns.
"I don't feel my position is in question. It would be absurd after just three games," Donadoni told reporters. "Instead I feel like a lion that wants to come back in a hurry.
"If there are still problems in six or seven matches' time, then a deeper analysis of the situation will be needed."
That means that things had better turn around quickly for Napoli, which must address a shaky defense that has yielded seven goals in the opening three games.
Not helping the situation on Saturday is the absence of defenders Hugo Campagnaro, who is battling a thigh injury and is likely to miss three to four weeks, and Salvatore Aronica, who is out through suspension.
Udinese has earned four points from its first three games, with the team beating Catania 4-2 last time out with three second-half goals from Antonio Di Natale.
Juventus, Genoa and Sampdoria are the only three sides in Serie A with perfect records, and each one has a good chance to extend that streak this weekend.
Juve hosts a winless Livorno side on Saturday after a 1-1 draw with Bordeaux in the Champions League on Tuesday, while Genoa hits the road to meet Chievo and Sampdoria hosts Siena, which has lost two of its first three contests.
Defending champions Inter Milan will be hoping for three points when they invade Cagliari, Bari and Atalanta square off at San Nicola in a battle of winless sides, Lazio meets up with Catania, AC Milan goes for its second win of the campaign when Bologna visits the San Siro, Palermo travels to Parma and Roma tries to win its second successive match after opening the season with two losses as they host Fiorentina.
