Milan, Italy (My Sportsbook) - Inter Milan needed two goals in the last 20 minutes against Parma on Sunday at the San Siro to claim a 2-0 win, keeping the defending champions within two points of the top spot.
For the second time in three games, Inter was given a difficult time by a new member of Serie A, with Bari earning a 1-1 draw on the opening day of the season.
Parma also looked poised to claim a share of the points until Samuel Eto'o struck in the 72nd minute and Diego Milito killed the game off with a goal two minutes from time.
The visitors defended well in the first half and got a big save from goalkeeper Antonio Mirante in the 11th minute when he stopped a Wesley Sneijder effort at full stretch.
Minutes later, it was Milito who could have put Inter in front, but he redirected a shot over the net from close range.
Mario Balotelli was brought on at halftime for Inter, and he injected some life into the attack as Maicon picked out the teenage striker at the back post from the right wing, but he fired over from six yards.
Parma could have taken the lead in the 65th minute when Jonathan Biabiany embarked on a long run through midfield and got into the box on the right. He drew goalkeeper Julio Cesar off his line and then flashed a shot across the face of goal, but it was as close as the visitors would come.
Eto'o then finally broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute when he took a pass on the left near the top of the box and curled a shot around the keeper and inside the far post.
Sneijder should have added to the lead two minutes later when he shot over the net from six yards, but Balotelli helped to put the game away two minutes from time when his right-wing cross found Milito inside the box and the Argentine poked the ball past Mirante.
Sampdoria joined Juventus with three wins from three games as they beat Atalanta, 1-0, despite going down a man. Fernando Tissone was sent off in the 52nd minute, but Daniele Mannini was still able to fire his team to the win when he scored in the 63rd.
Chievo picked up its first win of the campaign as Giampiero Pinzi and Sergio Pellissier scored first-half goals, Igor Budan's goal in stoppage time allowed Palermo to claim a 1-1 draw with Bari and Fiorentina used a goal from Alberto Gilardino in the 55th minute to slip past Cagliari, 1-0.
Roma earned its first points of the season as John Arne Riise scored in the 89th minute to give his team a 2-1 win at Siena, Antonio Di Natale scored three times in the second half to lift Udinese to a 4-2 victory over Catania, and Genoa kept its perfect record alive with four unanswered goals to beat Napoli, 4-1.
