Rome, Italy (My Sportsbook) - Roma has accepted coach Luciano Spalletti's resignation following its disappointing start to the new Serie A season. Spalletti met with Roma president Rosella Sensi following Sunday's 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Juventus. He tendered his resignation after the Giallorossi's second defeat from as many league games this season and the club's board decided to accept. "I handed in my resignation and Roma accepted it instantly," he said. Spalletti had been at the helm of the Eternal City club since 2005. Former Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri is already reported to be in line to take the Stadio Olimpico hot-seat. (Courtesy of sportbox.tv)
