Milan, Italy (My Sportsbook) - Inter Milan's first win of the new Serie A season came in emphatic fashion on Saturday as the club pounded rivals AC Milan, 4-0.
Thiago Motta put Inter in front after 29 minutes, while Diego Milito converted a penalty kick seven minutes later to make it 2-0. Milan's Gennaro Gattuso was then sent off in the 40th minute after he picked up a second yellow card, and Inter made the advantage count with goals from Maicon and Dejan Stankovic to put the game out of reach.
Inter threatened early in the match with Wesley Sneijder forcing AC Milan goalkeeper Marco Storari to make a good save just six minutes into the game, while AC Milan tried to open the scoring minutes later as Pato set up Ronaldinho near the penalty spot, but he fired over the net.
The first goal arrived midway through the half and it came after a nice build up that saw Milito slide a pass into the box for Motta, who beat Storari with a first-time strike.
Seven minutes later, Samuel Eto'o blew past Gattuso and got into the area before he was pulled down by the Milan midfielder, giving Milito the chance to bury the spot kick while Gattuso earned a yellow card.
Gattuso then picked up a second booking five minutes later for a hard foul on Sneijder, and Inter punished the short-handed side right before halftime.
Maicon worked a nice one-two with Milito at the top of the box and he took the return pass and slotted his shot past the keeper.
The game was essentially over at halftime, but Stankovic added to Milan's misery in the 67th minute with an absolute rocket into the upper right corner from 30 yards, while Milan was able to produce little in response.
The other match on Saturday saw promoted side Bari earn a second successive draw, holding Bologna to a 0-0 stalemate at San Nicola.
