Lyon, France (My Sportsbook) - Six-time defending French Ligue 1 champions Lyon signed Brazilian defender Cleber Anderson Beraldo on Thursday. Anderson, 26, was with Benfica in Portugal. Terms of his transfer and contract were not disclosed. He played five years with Corinthians in Brazil before his stint with Benfica. Lyon is off to a slow start this season, losing two of its first three games. The club lost only five games last season. Lyon hosts St. Etienne on Saturday. Benfica, which tied promoted Matosinhos 1-1 in its opener, hosts Guimaraes on Sunday in Jose Antonio Camacho's first game in his second stint as manager. Camacho coached Benfica in 2004 and replaces Fernando Santos, who was fired after the first game of the season. |
